The National Center for the Coordination of Response Mechanism (NCCRM) is the Government of Liberia's early warning institution, established through an Act of the Legislature on July 1, 2022.
The initiative was started by ECOWAS in 2017 with the goal of having an Early Warning Response Center in each of the 15 West African Member States. At its initiation stage, the Liberian Center was fully sponsored by ECOWAS and the Office of the Vice President of Liberia.
NCCRM sits under Pillar 3 (Rule of Law) of the current Government's development agenda, the Arrest Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID), and operates as a dedicated human security institution.
Monitor open sources, ECOWARN, LERN and national early warning streams for emerging threats.
Convene thematic working groups and liaise with relevant MACs and partners.
Issue alerts and situation reports to trigger timely response action by government and partners.
